Mock-up:     There will be a small sample of the finished product, a full size mock-up of a section of building, done on-site so that the actual construction materials can be seen.  Mock-ups are built so feedback can be generated, and for the potential of continued improvement.  We want to see how the building materials and the environment are integrated.  How the components fit, match, and interact.The plans for the mock-up are still being worked out, but included is a preliminary drawing of what could be built on-site.  We hope to finalize the block mixes and subsequently the paint colors by the end of the week.Planning for a mock-up is crucial since you want a good representation of the majority of the components that will be used.  Colors, materials, and specifications are constantly being tweaked, and as these change, you will see the updates so that you can follow along with your neighborhood’s progress. Mock-up 10/09/09:                  A mock-up has been built and is located on the corner of Santos and Labor Streets.  The full size mock-up is a sample of what the completed construction could look like.  If you happen to be in the neighborhood, drive by and have a look.  You’ll see that the materials used fit together nicely and the design is very modern.
