East Meadows Homes Garners Business Journal Building Award

The Opportunity Home San Antonio’s (Opportunity Home) East Meadows Homes, affordable single-family homes built on the Eastside, garnered Best Affordable Single-Family Housing Development in the San Antonio Business Journal’s 2020 Building San Antonio Awards.
East Meadows Homes were a component of Opportunity Home’s larger effort to bring new economic growth and improve the quality of life in the Eastside through the Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant awarded from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Opportunity Home purchased vacant lots on the Eastside of San Antonio, where Terramark Urban Homes is building and selling the homes to qualified homebuyers.
Terramark has designed cottage-style homes appropriate for the neighborhood with urban-style smaller lots for low maintenance and greater affordability. The home designs include 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms, with off-street parking and fenced outdoor space.
To support the development of affordable housing in the Eastside neighborhood, WellsFargo Bank has awarded a $100,000 grant to Opportunity Home to assist qualified buyers with closing costs.
To maintain affordability over the next 20 years, the owners of the homes may only resell them to future buyers who also qualify based on income limits at the time of the sale.
