Gilbert Casillas serves as a resident commissioner on the Opportunity Home Board of Commissioners. Born in Sacramento, California, and raised in San Antonio from the age of 10, he proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1981.
He built a career in promotions and marketing, managing campaigns for various radio and television stations in the San Antonio and Austin markets. Today, he works with Mission Park Funeral Chapels at Brookehill and Palm Heights Mortuary as a Provisional Funeral Director. He is also a graduate of the San Antonio College Mortuary Science program.
