SAHA, Franklin to Break Ground at Future Westside Multi-Family Development for Low-Income Families

WHAT

The San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA) and Franklin Development are breaking ground with community partners for the building of Artisan at Ruiz, a new development that will expand affordable housing on the Westside of San Antonio.

SAHA was the recipient of 9 percent Low-Income Housing Tax Credits from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs in July 2018 for Artisan at Ruiz. The proposed $19.5 million development with have 102 units, all designated affordable (11 units at 30 percent AMI, 41 units at 50 percent AMI, and 50 units at 60 percent AMI). About 90 percent of the residents will earn incomes between $30,000 and $41,000 annually.

SAHA will be joined with Councilman Robert Trevino, who is celebrating the new affordable housing development in his district. The commemorative celebration will include Presentation of Colors from the Memorial High School JROTC.
