San Antonio Housing Authority to build urban farm on East Side to combat food shortages

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Housing Authority is helping to build an urban farm on the East Side to combat food shortages in our city.

Once it’s finished, this four-acre farm will be one of the largest in San Antonio.

SAHA’s president says diabetes is the number one health concern on the East Side, and the urban farm will hopefully help people get healthy.

People should start to see some of the crops harvested in six months.

If you’d like to bring the family there, it’s located on Garcia Street.
