Weather Alert: Services Impacted, Resources Available

A winter storm in the San Antonio area is creating difficult travel conditions and impacting services across San Antonio. Below are services impacted and resources available to help you stay prepared.

WORK ORDERS

If you’re a resident living at a public housing property and you need to request an emergency work order, call 210.477.6800. When requesting a work order, please provide necessary information such as address, a description of the work needed, permission to enter and a phone number.

WARMING CENTERS

The City of San Antonio has four warming centers opened from Feb. 3 to Feb. 4. Anyone going to the centers should bring clothes, supplies and medicine needed. Pets are welcomed. Residents in need of transportation assistance may call 311.

Bexar County has six warming centers open starting at 7 p.m. on Feb. 2, 2022. They will remain open until 12 p.m. (noon), Feb. 5, 2022 unless weather permits earlier closure. Only service animals are welcome.

VIA is offering fare-free service on bus, VIA Link and VIAtrans service to people traveling to and from area warming centers, while the centers remain open.

Alert your driver or reservation agent. Emergency transportation is available to individuals in need of assistance. Please call 311 to arrange a trip. Service and weather updates are available at VIAinfo.net.

VIA TRANSIT

VIA Offices and Transit Centers have scheduling delays and detours on various routes due to road conditions. Monitor VIA’s Service Alerts, Weather page, Facebook and Twitter to monitor route detours, scheduling adjustments and weather updates. You can also call the VIA goLine at 210.362.2020 for information.

The San Antonio Food Bank is changing their food deliveries due to weather conditions and road closures. If you are in immediate need of food, call the 311 hotline for help.

MEALS ON WHEELS SAN ANTONIO

Meals on Wheels has canceled food deliveries.
